• Letter of Intent: Rural Development Fund

    The Rural Development Fund (RDF) Grant Program, administered by the Michigan Office of Rural Prosperity (ORP), provides competitive grant funding to support projects that strengthen rural communities and promote the long-term sustainability of Michigan's land-based industries, including food and agriculture, forestry, mining, oil and gas production, and tourism. The program funds initiatives that improve community and business development, workforce training, economic development, infrastructure, housing, broadband, transportation, water and wastewater systems, and regional collaboration. Grants of up to $100,000 are available for one-year Community and Business Development projects, while grants of up to $200,000 are available for two-year Regional Collaboration projects. Eligible applicants include local governments, nonprofits, businesses, educational institutions, tribal governments, regional organizations, and other entities serving eligible rural communities. The program is designed to build local capacity, foster partnerships, and create sustainable economic opportunities that improve the quality of life and economic resilience of rural Michigan.
